The Haunted Graveyard

Deserted Forest Cemetery, Poland

 Haunted Forest Graveyard

A photo of the deserted German cemetery hidden deep in the Notecka Forest in the province of Lubuskie in the west of Poland. Some locals and forestry workers believe the location to be haunted.

The cemetery of a German community which made its home deep in the forest of what was then the German state of Brandenburg is believed by some to be the most haunted places in Poland. The community thrived for some years and then suddenly and mysteriously died out in the late nineteenth century. Today the only trace of this once prosperous community is the neglected and overgrown graveyard. This graveyard does not appear on any map and is now completely isolated from any settlement. Local legend has it that on calm autumn and winter nights, when the moon is just right it is said you can hear voices speaking what sounds like German and other strange noises in and around the graveyard and surrounding woodland. Others claim to have seen the ghosts of children wandering this part of the forest.
