The Potsdam Conference, July - August 1945On 16 July 1945, the "Big Three" leaders met at Potsdam, Germany, near Berlin. In this, the last of the World War II heads of state conferences, President Truman, Soviet Premier Stalin and British Prime Ministers Winston Churchill and Clement Atlee discussed post-war arrangements in Europe, frequently without agreement. These discussions included the reparations to be paid by Germany; a decision on the location of the new borders of countries like Germany, Poland and the Soviet Union; and the transfer of German populations now outside of the borders of the new Germany. More about the agreements reached.
